Can i cancel appoinment one day before.
I saw in www.vfs-usa.co.in website ,have to cancel before two working days of appointment day.
If i cancel appointmentafter few days will i have to fill again DS156,157 forms for appointment.
In website they said cant cancel appointment 2 times.After 2 times cancelation have to wait 90 days with that hdfc barcode.
Before 90 days period can we fix new appoinment by paying agian into HDFC bank.Is this possible new appointment with new barcode.

Hi all,
My ETA case in online status shows "DATA REVIEW" for the past 5 months, my PD Aug 04/RIR/EB2 is with Dallas BPEC.Initially the status was closed, and then opened. After 5 months of reopening it still says 'Data review' .Is there some thing wrong or should I talk to my lawyer.
Some of my friends who applied that time have their status 'in process' or even 'certified' .Any experience like this or will that go to certified from here directly or to "in process" first. How long it can be in each of these statuses.
Any ideas appreciated please!

I had FP done way back in October 07..but there is no status change LUD on I-485..what to do??.:confused:..Do I take an appointment to talk to an officer or simply call USCIS ..

I have a valid Visitor(B1/B2) visa stamp in my passport. I previously entered the country on H1B visa stamp which has already expired. Can I come back to US based on the valid Visitor(B1/B2) visa stamp?

My I-485 is pending with PD of Oct 11 2006(EB2 India). I have been on H1 as was not able to add my spouse to my initial 485 application. As my H1 expires on Sep 6, we recently filed for H1/4 extension and received an RFE for Employee-Employer relationship. We have to answer this by Sep 13. As a Plan B, What we did in June 2010 was
a) I filed for my EAD
b) My spouse got admitted into a school here and applied for COS from H4 to F1 with a valid I-20.
Both of these cases are currently pending.. My questions are:
1) As our H1/4 and I-94 expires on Sep 6, Would we still be in legal status after Sep 6 as both of our cases (EAD and COS) are pending?
2) After answering the RFE, if it is denied, would it impact my GC processing?
3) I understand that even if my H1 is denied, As I have a pending EAD, my status would be okay but what options would we have if my Wife's case is denied.

Can I travle outside US after applying for conversion. Need some one to response ASAP
If you travel out of the U.S. while an application for change of status is pending the USCIS will deny the pending change of status application.

Hello,
I was wondering how long it took for everyone's check to be cashed once their packages were received at the TX service center? I'm worried because from what I read before the check cashing was almost immediate, while getting a receipt actually took longer. My package was received and signed for by Michael Salcedo on November 13th, but the check still hasn't cashed and I do not have a receipt. My husband and I are planning on travelling to Canada for Christmas, will crossing the border be a problem? Any advice anyone can give would be great! Thanks in advance!

When preparing docs to provide response for 221g form, I have filled DS-156 form at http://https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp. On click of Continue, it generated a PDF with randon bar code. Printed that online. And sent to docs to VFS Hyderabad officer.
I was told that bar code is wrong, I should fill up another DS-156 form. Are they looking for DS-156 submitted at the time of interview that has HDFC receipt number as bar code.
Please let me know if you have faced this problem earlier.
They have retained my wife passport asked to produce to copy of current visa of husband. Can I reply to this online.

Hi Folks,
Just read this on msnbc. Seems like they take away your electronic devices (laptop, digital camera, cellular, e.t.c) and then access all the info on the device. I am traveling in a weeks time and was taking with me all the above mentioned items. Now I am weighing the risk of traveling with my personal information on these devices. Not that i have anything illegal to hide, but still i consider this an invasion of my privacy. Any thoughts?!

My manager got an email from USCIS saying my I140 is approved and they will mail the approval notice. Online case status show that approval notice emailed. But we haven't received any emails about the approval notice. Do USCIS sent paper approval notices??

Out of the 65,000 cases that can be approved for H-1B this year, 37,400 cases have been receipted by USCIS for the regular Bachelor's degree H-1B quota. This is up from 36,600 cases which were received since September 3, 2010.
Approximately 13,700 cases have been receipted by USCIS for the advanced degree H-1B quota, a slight increase of about 300 cases filed since September 3, 2010 when approximately 13,400 cases had been received.
October 1, 2010 is around the corner. People with newly approved H-1Bs will soon be able to begin employment. First time applicants can still continue to submit applications for H-1B status until the entire H-1B quota is exhausted. I'll keep you updated on the cap count, so check back soon. ---ecf
