While there are some politicians genuinely concerned about the subject of immigration who are backing anti-immigration laws because they believe in the cause, there are many more who have jumped on the anti-immigration bandwagon to score political points (John McCain - I'm talking to you). I wonder if politicians in small towns that don't have a lot of fat in their budgets are going to re-evaluate the costs and benefits when they have to explain to constituents why they have to pay hefty fees to plaintiffs in lawsuits like this one in a small town in Nebraska. Did Amit(WaldenPond) get his GC , I have not seen any posts from him in recent past

Is it possible? Pro-active Finger-Printing without appointment letter.
I have done my FP on March 1st 2005, since the validity is now expired, i called the VSC to enquire when and if i will be getting another FP notice soon.She told me that i can contact the local ASC(Application service centre) and go for the Finger-printing without any formal Notice/Appointment Letter.
Has anybody done this? ie has anybody done Pro-active finger-printing without appointment letter? Please reply.

is this true. My mother came back last year using AP but she never got a new I-94. He AP was stamped and the validity of her stay here. So not sure if you will get a I94 or not. please eloborate.

Any advantage of opening an account on USCIS website to receive automatic case status updates? or I don't need to do that if I keep checking the status online by myself?
They send you and email if something changes, nice if you have a Blackberry/pda
If you have multiple cases i-129, i-131, i-140, i-485 you can see them all on one page, I find that easier to see LUDs in particular the "soft" non-action ones, but it's nice to know the file was touched.

I'm going to guess that the same folks in the Tea Party screaming about the deficit will somehow find this breaking news to be irrelevant. Here's my take on the new Visa Bulletin First, bad news for Dominicans. Separate cutoffs have now been established for the Family First and 2B preference categories which are now earlier than the worldwide dates. Family First is 01 JUN 2004 and 2B is 01 JAN 2002. Also, Indian numbers are pretty bad again with most categories stalled. Mexico is the only bright spot with some strong improvements in the employment categories. I joined company ABC on H1B in 2005.
In Nov 2006 company XYZ filed my GC.
H1B got transferred to a couple of companies because I changed jobs while GC was being processed in parallel without being affected by my job changes because it was filed by another company.
In Oct 2007 got my EAD for a period of 1 year. Kept working on H1B only though.
EAD expired in Oct 2008. Applied for a new card but never received it. Did not apply for one after that.
In Nov 2009, I quit my job and moved back to home country giving up my H1B while still not affecting my GC because company XYZ agreed to keep it under process.
So at this time, I have no H1B and no EAD card. My priority date is however going to be current soon.
Now...
1) Do I have to be in the country before my dates get current or can I do that later?
2) On what status do I enter?
3) Can I delay the process somehow without affecting my GC?

total of all 1099-misc = gross income
subract all business expenses (Corp/ LLC/ Proprietor)
thats the nett business income to be reported while filing taxes

I have this thought. We start a letter campaign sending letters to all the house members: 1) To get them aware of Legal immigration and 2) To put our case fwd.
I feel it will be very effective as the flower campaign. Atleast most of us can participate in it, less expensive, less time consuming. And we can see why we wouldn't they respond to the bulk of mail they are getting every day.
I know we did letters through email etc. But i think sending through post will be different and they will be obligated to respond.
I do not know whether this is a good idea. so please dont rush at me.:)

Hi My wife's H4b status is valid till 6th sept. Now she has her h1b approved on 3rd july. Her employer states that the approved petition has some clause that she has to leave the country and come back with h1 on nov 1st. Both the employer and myself are not comfortable doing that.
Her employer suggesting for h1b renewal under premium process so that i might get receipt in few weeks and also says that he would reapply for H1 wiht the receipt for the approval.
Please suggest me the best possible way ...
