Hello All,
I will be appearing for L1 individual visa extension in chennai in a few days from now.
One the questions that would be asked by the VO would be "where and who do you work for". The second part is easy since i work for the petitioning employer rendering my services for their client. However for the first part of the question what appropriate answer can be given?
Can i mention the client name location in US since that is where i currently work although i am controlled by the petitioning employer. I would not be working from the petitioning employer work location in US. I believe the L1 Visa reform act of June 2005, tells that you can work from offsite location provided you are controlled/managed by petitioner.
Please advise as it would help me in responding with correct answer. Thanks.

Friend Paskal is very much right. Also if associates don't want to come in front that is fine. Just find leads and let IV CORE take care from there.

Lawful permanent residents (LPR) of the United States (green card holders) need to keep their trips abroad to a relatively short period of time. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) could determine that an LPR has abandoned their residence if the LPR’s intent was not to return to the U.S. within a relatively short period of time.
Factors DHS could consider in evaluating the LPR’s intent include:
Whether the trip abroad is lengthy or for a short period of time;
LPR’s family ties in the U.S.;
property holding in the U.S.;
business affiliations within the U.S.;
LPR’s family, property, and business ties in the foreign country.
Please call Kraft & Associates at (214)999-9999 if you have any questions regarding abandonment of residency.

"I'm having to deal with the reality of what is. You can't wish it away. What is, is." So says a glum Ohio Democrat, Governor Ted Strickland, according to reporter Laura Meckler in this weekend's edition of The Wall St. Journal ("Democrats Face Economic Facts: Updraft Unlikely"). Meckler's article reports on the prospect that Democrats "will lose their majority in the House," citing two nonpartisan election handicappers, the Rothenberg Political Report and the Cook Political Report. What would shared power portend for immigration reform if the GOP took control of one or both houses of Congress? Before that question can...

Today, the Department of Labor (DOL) advised that it will keep the legacy or old LCA system operational through June 30, 2009. The decision to keep the legacy LCA system operational was based on DOLs interest in fixing glitches in the new system while providing users additional time to become familiar with the new iCert System. Before todays announcement, use of the DOLs new iCERT portal for LCA submissions was to become mandatory as of this Friday, May 15, which, consequently, would have disabled the legacy LCA Online system as of that date. The iCert System is a new, one-stop...

I am an EB3 (rest of the world) -
My I485 has a receipt date of 7/24/2007.
The processing date TSC is showing is 7/16/2007.
When my date comes up inside the Processing dates range, will the category be relevant for the approval? I am asking this question because I have a friend that is an EB2 and a receipt date of Sept 2007, and got his GC on December 2007...
If the categories are relevant, how can we monitor the process (the processing dates then become irrelevant)...

With the new EB2 how much time does it take for Labor to get certified..I am applying in texas region in guess. I am from louisiana -mississippi area. Anyone there from this area ?.
In these days of PERM you may be able to get labor certification in less than three weeks. Mine took only 13 days.

You can do it yourself. Its easy with e-filing and so many (including yours truly) in this forum have done it. Check out this thread for more info:

And please contribute that attorney fee to IV :)
Is it easy to do that myself? Or do I need to go through an attorney?
Please advise.
Thanks!

The Arizona Republic discusses the intriguing question of what happens if Immigration and Customs Enforcement simply says no thanks when Arizona police call them: Arizona's tough new immigration law is slated to take effect Thursday, but the nation's immigration enforcement agency has not indicated whether it will cooperate with police who are trying to enforce it. Without cooperation from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, much of the law would become unenforceable: Police would have no way of determining, from federal authorities, the legal status of suspected illegal immigrants as the state law requires. And that would severely hamper efforts to arrest...

Hello everyone,
I obtained my F1 visa in Aug,2001 for 5 years and I initially came here for M.S. I have continued for PhD in 2003 and visited India every two years. My F1 expired in Jul,2006 but my I-20 is valid until Dec,2008.The real problem is that I have applied for Canadian PR this Oct and expecting to get it by Oct,2008.
Once I get my PR, I have to go to Canada for Visa stamping and my questions are related to this:
1) Since my F1 expired, Can I come back to US after PR stamping, without needing an F1 visa.?
2) Is it advisable to get my F1 visa stamping in India or Canada next year i.e in Oct 2008, or would it be too late? (since that would be two years after visa expiry).
PS: I wanted to get my F1 stamping only if it were necessary to go to India.
Any suggestions would help me a lot and thanks so much in advance.
