But its really unfortunate to know that President Bush is gonna veto the bill altogether.

me and my spouse filed 1485 in july 2007 with a received date of 10/07/07.
we donot see anychanges online other than the case received and pending notice.
is there a way we can find the status of our case.if name check is cleared,any further finger printing as we only did once in 2007.ours is eb3.any input highly appreciated.

My application was filed under PERM EB2 on May 12th and it got approved on Sep 2nd. Filed I-140 under premium processing yesterday. My attorney has requested earlier priority date (June 2003, EB3) while filing EB2 I-140. He said, once I-140 is approved and priority date porting is done, I-485 may be approved automatically. If not approved for a period of time (say a month or so), interfiling may be requested.

1. Do you know any one (your friend, client) used AC21 and faced same problem? Es
2. Is it true that AC-21 info don't get updated in the USCIS records?
3. If yes (2 question), then x-employer I-140 revocation will ALWAYS result in THIS kind of problems (as ind-game is facing)?

So, so if we have 150K BEC cases also, it is 300K for primary and 600K-700K total for 485s.

Hi,
I was following this thread and it has good information.
I have EB3 labor and I-140 approved with priority date March 2005. I couldn't file my I-485 in 2007.
Recently thru same employer I filed EB2 labor which got approved in Sept 2010. I have filed my I-140 under regular processing. I asked my attorney and he said as I already have one I-140 approved I should file this one under regular processing. USCIS might reject premium processing. Any advice.
My 6th year of H1-B is getting completed on Sept 2011.
Please suggest should I file my I-140 under premium processing? Should I try to convert it???

Ask your attorney and company if you can convert to premium and listen to them what they are saying. Based on their comments and input you can decide. As I-140 has to be supported by company we have nothing much to do except to request them. I wish you best of luck.

Did any of you guys read the USCIS ombudsman report in detail. It talks about FBI namechecks in some detail and specifically mentions that the namechecks are less detailed than what USCIS already does through it's available databases. In fact the FBI checks fewer things than what the USCIS already checks and so the ombudsman believes that the FBI name check is a waste of time and should be done away with.
Nevertheless USCIS still keeps the FBI name check and I believe that is for purely political reasons where they can conveniently pass the buck if something untoward happens.
Therefore harping on the FBI namecheck issue for the weekend processing may not be a good idea.

I need more people to stand up and commit to video campaign also. Come on guys, if this had any risk involved, I would not tell you to do this. I have myself put videos in past (for a different purpose). I am on my H1 too. If there was risk involved, I wouldnt do that. I am not crazy and I love my status and my prospects for GC too.

You cant just deny someone's 140 because you dont LIKE the extra carricular activities of person. You are dealing with a Democracy here. Not the 15th century Mughal emperor where the jahan-panah (the emperor) can put someone on trial, convict and sentence upon whim without any due process and where the roles of judge, prosecutor and jury are all fused together into one person. There is a reason why there is an independent judiciary in any reasonable democracy.
If this were something illegal, yes you would be in trouble. If its legal, you are not in trouble no matter what.
If you do something illegal, then no matter how secretly you do it, it will affect your GC or citizenship. Even after you get GC or citizenship, if you do ILLEGAL STUFF, then yes, those privileges can be revoked. If everything you do is LEGAL, then NO, NOTHING will happen to you.
Kindly draw the lines of what you choose to do and choose not to do along the lines of LAW, and not along the lines of "What might or might not offend someone".
If you are constantly afraid of offending someone, then the sad news is that you wont be able to accomplish much of anything in life, EVEN AFTER getting GC and citizenship.
There is no such thing as secret protest.
If the only protest is the only inside your head, then I dont think Congress is going to get the message. That's because Congress does not read minds. Well said. On top of all this, there is a huge social pressure on NRIs from Indian parents/relatives to buy a property in India. It goes like this, if Hari, Babu and Kanwal all have it, why don't you buy something in Delhi as well. Now builders have started talking in terms of crores. You call them and ask the price, they would say "point six", means zero point six crores (for 1200 sq ft 2 BHK). There is no way on this earth someone should pay that much for 1200 sq ft in Noida/Delhi/Anywhere in India.
